A few military operations also continued using the base, with the most notable of these, being an Air Force program run by the Arlington Aeronautical School of Flight & Engineering.

When the lumber industry hit a boom cycle, it quickly eyed the flat expanses around the hangars for milling operations, while the Tillamook School District moved into such buildings as the Recreation Hall.
