Do Any Of The Original Hangars Still Exist?

Concrete Bents (Hangar Remains)Of the original seventeen timber hangars constructed during WWII, only seven continue to stand today:

NAS Glynco, GA 0 Hurricane
NAS Hitchcock, TX 0 Hurricane
NAS Houma, LA 0 Demolished
NAS Lakehurst, NJ 2 All Remain
NAS Moffett Field, CA 2 All Remain
NAS Richmond, FL 0 Hurricane
NAS Santa Ana, CA 2 All Remain*
NAS South Weymouth, MA 0 Demolished
NAS Tillamook, OR 1 Fire
NAS Weeksville, NC 0 Fire

* The two hangars at MCAS Tustin (formerly NAS Santa Ana), are currently being considered for demolition. Although several civic plans have been proposed over the years, demolition remains a strong possibility. High maintenance and restoration costs, seem to afford these registered National Historic Landmarks little protection.
