Did ZP-33 Have A Squadron Patch?

ZP-12 Squadron PatchAs far as we can establish, Blimp Patrol Squadron ZP-33 never had an official patch commissioned. Although there is a rumor that one did exist, this is highly doubtful. Most of the blimp bases were established to house temporary war-time squadrons, so no special recognition was really considered. It probably didn't help much either, that many of these squadrons were located in sparsely populated areas of the country (like NAS Tillamook).

If ZP-33 had a patch, it would be similar to the one shown at the right. This patch was donned by personnel at NAS Lakehurst -- the first LTA base in the United States.

As a side note, it is possible that an "unofficial" patch was created by the servicemen stationed at NAS Tillamook. If you have additional information, please let us know.
