The Spitfire was a popular attack plane with the RAAF, during World War II. Armed with four .30 inch Browning machine guns, two 20mm Hispano cannons, and one 500 lb (sometimes two 250 lb bombs), she was considered a formidable opponent, especially by the Japanese.
