Six underground tanks were built near Hangar 'B', in a 2 x 3 configuration. Due to the war-time restrictions on steel, these tanks were constructed mostly from pre-stressed concrete, and were capable of holding 30,000 gallons each. A short rail spur provided access to tanker cars..
