Comments: Having
[spent] many hours in blimps, I was delighted to find this site. I have visited
Tillamook NAS many times during [the] construction of the Cyclocrane, and a
small blimp that I can't recall the name [of]. The pilot was Dick Widdecome. I
flew many hours with him out of Lakehurst. I enjoyed my recent visit to
Tillamook, with the Naval Airchip Association.

Comments: My
Mother, Jacquelyn Jo Finney, was an operator on the base phone switchboards
during WWII. She is still alive and has a few pictures from that time. We will
be in the Tillamook area on the weekend of October 15, 2005 and plan on
stopping by the base and museum. Let me know if you would be interested in
talking with her. She grew up in Rockaway Beach - this will likely be her final
trip back to that area. Thanks |
