I'm a retired career Naval Aviator. I flew Spads (AD, later A1 series) 1953-1961 in VA-75 and as an instructor at Advanced Flight Training in Corpus Christi. I will be visiting Tillamook later this month and will stop by the museum to see your AD-4. Sorry, no lighter than air stories other than sipping a little helium once while blowing up baloons for the kids.

We visited the museum five times and it keeps getting better. I have photos when there were two hangers before one burnt, and pictures of small jet and pilot before accident. I can forward some if interested.

I lived on the base in the Sixties when my father was with the Job Corps. We lived in what you called base quarters D. My bedroom was the upstairs one facing the street. Other Job Corp families lived in the other living quarters. The base was a kid's paradise. It saddens me to see a lot of the buildings have fallen in to disrepair. I will look through my old photos to see if I have any you might be interested in.

Great Website! For my curiosity, I think the picture of the Douglas Dauntless is mislabelled and is the other T-28 in your collection. Keep up the good work.
