Hello, I was just looking up Naval Air Stations in the northwest, and remember driving by on the way to the beach

We (my wife and I), are planning to visit early this September. I'm going on 43 years young, and enjoy seeing all the aircraft in their many forms. Each helped keep the world from tyranny in the late thirties and early forties. When I get to hear and see them fly, all the better! My wife and I enjoy Museums, airshows (with such aircraft as are in your collection) plus the people associated with them, but we visit for other reasons as well. Here is one reason, if one doesn't mind me lamating on a little: My only family connection in aviation (to that great and dark era), is my grandfather's labors at Burbank for the company known as North America Aviation, Northorp. With his input and the history I've read, I see the end of WWII as the starting point for all world history in all the things we know today. Just my opinion. I also believe any current events right up to today's, was in effect by that time period without a doubt, and can be traced back to that time period! (When we could have been the only super power if we weren't God's own good children) when good conquerd evil. These planes help us and future generations, remember those years in history of good triumphing over evil for theirs, mine, our freedoms. These planes should ever more be around lest those that paid with body, soul and mind for mine, ours, their freedom, be forgotten. These are just a couple of my reasons for visiting. I'm looking forward to your newsletter and the aircraft that will be featured while we are visiting. Peter Robinson.

Great Website! Do you know anything about concrete blimp hangars? There is a hangar on North Island NAS (San Diego, CA) that on a harbor tour, I was told was originally built for blimps. We have a building on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds that could be its long lost sister. The fairgrounds building is used for horse shows & high school hockey. It replaced a building that was used as a propellor factory during WWII.
