I was at Tillamook NAS when I was in the Air Force -- going to A&E school from August 1951 to May 1952. I Had a great time out there!

Thanks for your help and the beautiful job you did cleaning up the image I sent. I took a five year assignment in Japan and now proudly display the "Miles of Hell to Tokyo - Work Where You're Needed" poster in my office. Keep up the great work! Jeff

I remember visiting the remains of the blimp base in Hitchcock, Texas. My brother was curious about what the four concrete towers were for. I told him hanger doors and the photos more than prove it.

As a veteran of WW2. I am filled with a great deal of memories. Since I had joined the navy before the base was built. I was not aware of its existence until 1946, but I am fascinated with the former naval base. It is my belief that the base does not receive adequate publicity, however. It is a very unique monument to the men who served this country and should be considered as such. I would suggest a volunteer organization that marks and maintains the locations of the former facilities, as well as, promotes tourism. There are still people who remember the facility and those who will appreciate its existence in the future. I have taken my relatives from Nevada to visit the site and they are awe-struck. They just can't imagine that all of this existed before they were born. Well, we know it's history, important history, so please tell everyone you possibly can.
