Howdy, I am a reporter at the Los Angeles Times. I happened by your web page and was astonished to learn there is another blimp hangar--a wooden structure--still standing in Oregon. Are you familiar with the 2 hangars at the Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin, CA? The marines say they are the last structures of their kind left standing. These two hangars were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The base is scheduled to close, and neither Tustin or Orange County are sure that they will be able to preserve the hangars.

I am from Milwaukie, OR, born and raised, but am at the present time in Arizona at ASU's East Campus (Formerly Williams AFB) studying Aeronautical Engineering. However, I will be back in Oregon all next summer and will have a guest from AZ with me. We will certainly visit NAS Tillamook. I have been there many times and I am sure my guest will enjoy it.

I'm an old airhead from NAS Lakehurst, and I served on a ZP Nan Ship. Great Memories.
